For lunch, as our last gastronomic experience of the year, we went to restaurant
Julemont✨✨from chef Guido Braeken at
Chateau Wittem.
With a glass of champagne, some appetizers.
Tomato tartlet, Parmesan foam and basil pearls.
Going to our table for the Julemont Eindejaarsmenu.
The amuse bouche is prepared at the table.
Voilá!
Bread, butter and the delicious brioche. The first dish: hamachi, ponzu, sesame, radish and Royal Belgian Kaviaar.
Pairing with the hamachi, a glass of 2017 Clos du Paradis.
Sole, Australian Wintertruffle, Jerusalem artichoke and vin jaune. Delicious!
A glass of 2019 Bourgogne Blanc from Lucien Le Moine.
Lobster, tandoori, sepia, mango, coconut.
With the lobster, a glass of 2019 Ozyetra from Von Winning. Very nice!!
As main dish, roe, beetroot, purple curry, foie gras, peanut.
With the roe, a glass of 2018 Guidalberto from Tenuta San Guido.
And my choice: Gramat, Le Fleuri de Bocage, L'Etivaz Alpage, 7 Nani, Smokey Blue. With raisin bread, pear compote and apple-pear syrup.
[Cheese| raisinbread | compote | chutney]
Such a nice detail to have a cheese menu describing your choices!
With the cheese, a glass of Ratafia Champenois Solera 90-16 from Domaine Henri Giraud.
Sweet time!
Chocolate, banana, passionfruit, yuzu, pecan.
Pairing with the dessert, a glass of 2105 Riesling Jakob Auslese from Seehof.
Going back to the bar for coffee and gourmandises. From our seat, view to the private dinning area.
With the espresso, pastries...
...and chocolate to finish an excellent lunch in the almost last day of the year 😊
Dec 30th, 2022.
