Restaurant Session (in Kornelimünster): Sankt Benedikt

On Friday evening, we went for dinner at restaurant Sankt Benedikt✨. To start, some appetizers.

As aperitif, I had a glass of 2016 Riesling Brut from Fritz Haag.
 
Roger had a glass of 2021 Scheurebe trocken from Joh. Bapt. Schäfer.
 
As amuse bouche, an onion tartlet.
 
We mixed the dishes from the meat and fish menu with the vegetarian menu - that are an inspiration!! As first dish, beetroot, pistachio, camomile.

With the beetroot dish, a glass of Schäferstündchen from Joh. Bapt. Schäfer.
 
Veal tartare, Prunier Imperial caviar, szechuan pepper. Always a highlight!

Pairing perfectly with the tartare, a glass of 2020 Rose Fume from Weingut Knipser.
 
Turbot, tom ka gai (in ice cream format), pandan, kaffir lime. Love this dish, hope it will stay forever in the menu!

With the turbot, a glass of 2020 Grauer Burgunder Muehleimer Sonnhalde from Dörflinger. 
 
As fourth course, another dish from the vegetarian menu: corn, rocket, saffron.

A glass of 2021 Silvaner from Juliusspital.
 
As main dish, presa from iberico (amazing meat, so full of flavour!), romaine lettuce, mustard, peas.

With the main dish, a glass of 2013 Samtrot trocket "R" from Weingut Drautz Able.
 
Dessert time! Bergamot, sheep milk yogurt, chocolate.
