Restaurant Session (in Remscheid): Der Grund... Sich Wohl Zu Fühlen!

 

After a long day of work in Remscheid, going out for dinner with two colleagues. The restaurant Der Grund is a bit far from the city center, but we wanted to have it a try. Always good to seat in the terrace to enjoy a nice Summer evening.

As appetizer of the house, grilled vegetables and dip. 

Cheers! With a strawberry Sprizz.

My dish: grilled salmon, shrimps, and a nice ravioli.

 

For dessert, the classic crème brûlée.

Walking Time (in Remscheid)

After leaving my things in the apartment, I went for a walk. Passing by the water tower Baisieper Strasse. 

Houses covered with slate tiles: very typical from the region.

 Arriving in the flat, time to cook dinner. Brought some ravioli and ingredients for a sauce.

Relaxing time: coffee + enjoying the sun light of a late afternoon.

Sleeping in Remscheid: Stadtvilla Intzeplatz Apartment Sylt

Staying overnight in Remscheid again. As I would sleep two nights, I chose an apartment instead of a hotel room. In front of the building, one of the symbols...

...from Remscheid that can be seen in several places in the town: a lion.

 

I stayed at the Sylt apartment, in the first floor. Entering the apartment, a big dinner table and...

...the living room, with lots of light.

Also a very big balcony - must be great to enjoy it in Summer!

Something I didn't like in the bedroom was this extra bed. It didn't allow for space to sit at the office table, and the mattress covered with the blue shit does not look really decorative. I would have change that for a sleeping couch instead.

Slepping in Remscheid: Hotel Ascot

Staying a night at the Hotel Ascot, in Remscheid.

In front of the bed, a big TV with a small table.

 

The bathroom, with a lot of space.

 

As it was during Covid time, the hotel restaurant was not allowed to function. But I could sit in the dinning area and eat my dinner after...

 

 ...picking a take away up from restaurant Pizzeria Il Camino. Creamy pasta, very nice taste.

Sleeping in Remscheid: Essential by Dorint

In February 2021, I started a new job - in the same company but in another business unit, in another area (from Sales to Operations), in a different role - and in a different city (Remscheid). It is one hour driving from Aachen - and unfortunately without good train connections, so I really need to drive. As I needed to be there quite often in the beginning, I chose to sleep in Remscheid from time to time - specially in winter, driving in the dark with rain or snow, is not the most pleasant (and safest) way.

Sleeping in Hotel Essential by Dorint. 

The biggest advantage is that it is only 5 minutes drive from my new job.

...shower.

Something I never saw before :-) In the bathroom, there is a heating with a timer - how many minutes do you want to keep the heating on in your bathroom? :-D
